2009
Westtown Township Budget to be adopted December 15th
NO TAX INCREASE IN
2009
When the Board of Supervisors adopts the 2009 Budget on December 15th,
no increase in the Township Real Estate Tax is anticipated.
SEWER RATES TO INCREASE IN 2009
Due to increased chemical costs along with overdue repairs to sections of
the sanitary sewage system, there will be a minor increase in sewer rates
for 2009. The quarterly increase will amount to approximately 7% for
residential properties. While costs of operating the system have gone up,
anticipated revenue is not projected to change from the current level
thereby creating the necessity of a rate increase. The Ordinance
with the new rates will also be adopted on December 15th. To view
the entire Sewer Rate Ordinance,

TRASH-RECYCLING FEES WILL INCREASE
In 2009 Westtown will enter the second year of a three year agreement with
A. J. Blosenski for the collection of trash and recyclables. Blosenski’s
bid price for the second year included an increase in rates. This
necessitates an increase in the Township’s fees for trash collection.
Starting in January, 2009, the quarterly rate will increase to $80 per
quarter.
